I think the yarn might work out well. The neat thing is that when you drop the stitches, you really see the yarn in a way that you don't when it's knit up. I think it might disrupt and cure any pooling issues. The drape will be all to the good!

i garee with Kay, it will be beautiful, with no excessive pooling, dropped stitches and slanted constant increase should take care of that.

GASP! those colors are very similar to my clapotis! here's a picture before dropping and after. i think you will love your colors as much as i love mine.
